# Public Mobile Canada-US-Mexico Plan: One Plan, Three Countries, No Roaming Fees

If you travel between Canada, the US, and Mexico, we recommend Public Mobile's Canada-US-Mexico plan. It is $40/month for 75GB of 5G data that works in all three countries. No roaming fees. No daily charges. No surprises.

We have used it across all three countries, including a six-month stay in Mexico, and the coverage has been solid. You don't think about roaming fees when you cross a border. You don't do math. You just have data.

## Why We Switched

The first time I crossed into the US with my regular Canadian phone plan, I got a $127 bill for three days in Maine. I barely used any data. The charges came from the daily roaming fee that kicked in the moment my phone connected to a US tower.

Rogers charges $16/day in the US and $18/day in Mexico. Bell charges $13/day and $16/day. Telus charges $14/day and $16/day. They all have 20-day billing caps, but those caps reset each cycle and get complicated when you mix destinations.

| Scenario | Big Carrier Roaming | Public Mobile |
|---|---|---|
| 3-day US trip | $48 | $40 |
| 1-week US trip | $112 | $40 |
| 2-week US-Mexico trip | $238 | $40 |
| 1-month Mexico | $360 (cap) | $40 |

The longer your trip, the worse roaming gets. Public Mobile stays the same.

## The Catch

Public Mobile is only for Canadians. You need a Canadian address and credit card. If you're not Canadian, an eSIM or local SIM is your best bet.
