The Moments That Inspire Us

Some moments are meant to be more than something we simply put on the calendar. They are meant to be experienced, shared and carried with us long after we leave.
Last night in Moncton, we had the pleasure of seeing Sam Demma launch his new book, Return on Goodwill. But really, it felt like much more than a book launch. It was an evening about people, about the way we see one another, the choices we make, and the small acts of kindness and connection that can ripple much farther than we might ever know.
Sam’s message is one that stays with you: that small, consistent actions can create extraordinary change. It is a reminder that we don’t have to change the whole world in one grand gesture. Sometimes it begins with a conversation, a helping hand, an encouraging word, a little generosity, or simply choosing to see the good that is already around us.
There is the joy of experiencing a moment like this with friends. There is something special about sharing an evening together, laughing, listening, talking about what moved us and perhaps seeing something through a slightly different lens because we experienced it together. These are the moments that become memories and what we carried home in our hearts was the real gift.
We often think inspiration will arrive in some grand, life changing package. However sometimes it comes quietly, through a story, a new perspective or a person who reminds us that our everyday choices matter. We leave an evening like this feeling a little more connected, a little more hopeful and perhaps a little more conscious of the impact we can have on the people around us.
Maybe that is the real gift of gathering with good people: we inspire one another without even realizing it.
A night out with friends can become a reminder to live with more intention. A conversation can shift our outlook. Someone else’s story can awaken something in our own. A simple evening together can send us back into the world wanting to be a little kinder, a little more generous and a little more present.
Life is made up of these moments.
The ones we choose to share.
The people who make us laugh.
The messages that make us think.
It is the inspiration that reminds us that we all have something to give.
All it takes is one evening, a few good friends and a message worth carrying forward.
Gratefully yours, Ms. Mindful Traveller
