Making Room for the Next Adventure

Contents

There comes a time when you realize that sometimes making room for the next adventure means letting go of something you love.

This week, we are putting our home on the market. It’s more than four walls, windows and a place to keep our things. It’s the home where we have shared meals, celebrated milestones, welcomed family and friends, laughed until our stomachs hurt and created memories we will carry with us wherever we go.

Life has a funny way of reminding us that home isn’t always a place. Sometimes home is the people we love, the experiences we collect and the freedom to follow curiosity wherever it leads.

We’re ready to make room for more travel, new places, different experiences and perhaps a little more spontaneity. We don’t know exactly what the next chapter will look like, and honestly, that’s part of the excitement.

Of course, we’re hoping for a quick sale! But there is something rather lovely about imagining another family walking through these doors and eventually saying, “This is home.” They’ll fill these rooms with their own celebrations, Sunday dinners, quiet mornings, family gatherings and stories we will never know.

And that feels right.

We’re not really leaving the memories behind. We’re simply making room for new ones.

Here’s to closing one door with a grateful heart, opening another with a little excitement, and leaving plenty of room for whatever adventure comes next.

Sometimes the best way to make room for the next chapter is to let someone else begin theirs in the pages of the one you’re leaving behind.

Adventurously yours, Ms. Mindful Traveller
