Kairos: When the Timing Is Just Right

There are two Greek words for time: Chronos, the time we measure by clocks and calendars, and Kairos, the beautiful idea of the right moment, the perfect timing, when things seem to fall into place just as they are meant to.
Sometimes finding your people and finding your place in the world feels a little like Kairos.
As we have built our life in Puerto Vallarta, we have discovered that finding a community is about so much more than finding a neighbourhood or a place to call home. It is about the connections, the friendships, the familiar faces and the people who make an unfamiliar place feel like it has always been yours.
Then something rather special happened. Our sister-in-law and brother-in-law found a place in the very same community. Friends have found their way here too. Suddenly, the idea of community has grown into something even more meaningful. We aren’t simply creating a life in a place we love; we are creating a little village surrounded by people we love.
There is something comforting about knowing that the people who matter can share in the everyday moments, the spontaneous visits, the meals, the laughter and all those little adventures that make life richer. We may have travelled different paths to get here, but somehow our paths have crossed at just the right time.
Perhaps that is the magic of Kairos. It reminds us that not everything in life can be scheduled, planned or hurried along. Some of the best things happen when the timing is right, when we are open to possibilities and when life brings the right people into our orbit.
We spend so much time watching the clock, planning the next chapter and wondering what comes next. Maybe we should spend a little more time recognizing those moments when life quietly whispers, this is where you belong.
Mindful takeaway: Sometimes the greatest destination isn’t a place on a map. It’s a community of people who make that place feel like home. Sometimes, the timing is simply perfect.
