Staying Limber Keep Moving

I am reminded that I am getting older, however I also know that I have worked hard on my fitness and I feel this has made huge improvements on my life satisfaction. Everyone talks about staying fit, eating well and getting enough sleep, however a major contributor to life satisfaction is being able to move without pain and very few talk about staying limber. Being able to move easily slows down as you age. You stop pushing yourself to stay strong. I like to sit on the ground and often do, I try to always get up using no hands. I also try to balance on one foot to put shoes on, not relying on a bench or chair. I still climb up and jump down from places. I feel that all of these contribute to my ability to stay limber. Yoga is also great for staying limber and a side benefit is that it is great for your mental health as well. There are all kinds of videos that you watch on-line to stay limber. A body in motion stays in motion a body at rest stays at rest. If you want a long happy life don’t forget to work on staying limber and being agile. There are lots of places to see in this world and I want to be able to experience them on my own two feet!

Markets

In many communities you can find a local market. Sometimes they are only there for a weekend, sometimes a season and if your community is lucky enough it might be there all year. One thing I love about markets everywhere I have been is their cultural inclusivity. All people in booths selling their goods. Food, drinks, crafts and much more can be found at these markets. Always a treat for the senses, smelling the lingering aromas of the varying meals being prepared. Tasting the homemade food, like fresh local berries when in season. Touching the beautiful fabrics of clothes or blankets that were hand-stitched or woven. Seeing all the beautiful colours from each of the booths and watching people mingle. Hearing the music of a local troubadour belting out familiar tunes. Markets are alive, they are local trademarks of a community. Communities come together sharing their gifts and talents. Wherever you are take some time in your schedule to visit a local market. It makes good ‘sense’.

The Tides

I’m a thalassophile, I love the beach. I am calmer and I love all that the sea has to offer. In beautiful New Brunswick, Canada we have tides. The tide table allows us to understand when we have high and low tides. Tide Tables We can literally walk the bottom of the ocean. Where we are when it’s low tide we have sand bars that we can stroll from one to another. We can go to Fundy National Park and watch the immensity and power of the ocean changing tides from low to high, in what seems like minutes. A true wonder of the world. Sitting on a beach chair watching the tides come in reading a book is one of life’s greatest luxuries. I am blessed I get to enjoy this on the regular.

Week 2 July 2026 Mindful Moments Digest

The second week of July 2026 was a celebration of love, friendship, and the practical aspects of travel. From marking 30 years of marriage to exploring new technologies for travel planning, each mindful moment offered wisdom on navigating life’s journey with intention and gratitude.

This week we explored themes of enduring love, the power of friendship, financial planning for adventures, the joy of reunions, daily rituals, embracing technology, and the natural rhythms of the ocean. We also shared practical tips on budgeting for travel and the importance of morning routines.

The Age of Artificial Intelligence

How can we use A.I. to help plan our trip? There are many ways we can use A.I. to assist in everything from organizing our itinerary to finding places to stay. Like everything we do with A.I., it is essential to fact check. The prompts that we give the A.I., will reflect how accurate the information is. For instance when checking prices for flights you could ask A.I. To find you flights from a certain place to another and compare airlines and times. You can ask for the information to be given in a chart. You can ask if there are any ways to get additional discounts for these flights. Then you can go and check to see if the information given was accurate and book. It is great to gain ideas and to use A.I. as a tool, however just like a travel agent things can go wrong if communication is lagging.

My Mindful Morning Coffee

In the morning I start my day with a perfect cup of coffee. We have invested in a great coffee machine. It is worth every penny. De’Longhi Magnifica Start Fully Automatic Espresso Machine with Automatic Milk Frother - Black (CA | COM) When we vacation we always look for where we are going to source that first cup. When I am home I have a favourite pottery mug that starts my routine in the same way, filled with coffee and cream sometimes followed by a latte. The cup always feels nice and warm in my hands and I take this time to reflect on what today will bring. This is a mindful moment, never rushed always enjoyed. What simple tradition do you have daily that brings you joy and you would consider a mindful moment? Whatever this is for you I hope you take that time daily for yourself to truly enjoy!

Public Mobile Canada-US-Mexico Plan: One Plan, Three Countries, No Roaming Fees

If you travel between Canada, the US, and Mexico, we recommend Public Mobile’s Canada-US-Mexico plan. It is $40/month for 75GB of 5G data that works in all three countries. No roaming fees. No daily charges. No surprises.

We have used it across all three countries, including a six-month stay in Mexico, and the coverage has been solid. You don’t think about roaming fees when you cross a border. You don’t do math. You just have data.

Reunions

It is always such a joy to be reunited with good friends and family. We are often away in different locations and have made friends all over. Reunions have become something I recognize and enjoy. I love seeing the faces of those that I am lucky enough to reunite with. The joy that I feel in my heart when I am reunited with the ones I have allowed in my circle in a true gift. I am so grateful for each and every reunion, friendships and family are important to me and getting to spend time with those you love reunited if only for a short time is so rewarding. Reach out to someone you haven’t seen in awhile, make each reunion a celebration of life.

Budgeting for Your Next Adventure

Where does anyone find the money to travel anymore? I have learned that I prefer memories over things, so recently I have started selling my stuff. I already have sold enough for a full trip and I am not done selling yet. I also think that if travel is important to you then you should find a way to make it happen. A side hustle might be your way to a vacation. Our son decided to teach abroad making it easier for him to see a different part of the world. Figure out the cost of your next adventure and then start saving. It’s surprising really when you look around at the surplus of material items that can be sold for cash. Always make your dreams possible, work for it and make it happen.

Grateful for Friends that Go Above and Beyond!

Our 30th Anniversary was filled with so much love and kindness we are truly blessed. Friends took care of us in a royal way, cooking a feast fit for royalty. Our great friend and personal chef prepared the most delicious meal with care and love. Dessert made and brought to us by his wife a woman with a heart of gold. I swear food tastes better when prepared with love. There was so much care, even the presentation was Michelin star rating. To have friends that went out of their way for us was truly a night to remember! Be mindful of the people you keep in your circle. They can be the highlight reel or they can cause heartache, so choose wisely. I feel so much gratitude and never want to take this life for granted.

30 Years of Mindful Marriage

Today marks 30 years that Mr. Mindful Traveller and I said I do. We have shared so many grand adventures. Life has thrown us our share of obstacles, but we have learned to zig and zag together. Traveling has been our passion and a lifestyle we have dreamed of. I am happy to say we have accomplished many of our goals together and I look forward to visiting so many more beautiful destinations. The ability to travel along side my best friend and life partner is one of life’s greatest joys! Cheers to the next 30 years may they be filled with even more adventure.

Change is Inevitable

When we look around, we notice change. Sometimes the change is progress and it brings joy to our lives. However sometimes a once beloved place has changed to a place that’s unrecognizable. This means we have the opportunity to see new beginnings if we choose to open our eyes wide. Just like the tides change the coast line making erosion inevitable, so is the change we see in our lives. We get to decide how we are going to internalize the change. We can accept or resist it, the change doesn’t care. It just happens so rejoice in the change as it allows us new opportunities, we get to discover again. We get to experience this world with all of its glorious changes.

Week 1 July 2026 Mindful Moments Digest

The first week of July 2026 was a time of celebration, reflection, and embracing new beginnings. From the joy of family gatherings to the motivation to pursue our dreams, each mindful moment offered an opportunity to pause and find meaning in our daily journey through life.

Beach Weather

Today I will take time for myself to go down to the beach. It has been a busy time for us, but today I will pause and take time reading on the beach. If Not Now Then When

What adventure do you crave? If you could go anywhere, where would you go? Now make it happen! If money is holding you back. Then make more money. If time is an issue find a way to carve out more time. If it’s your health. Work on it. The answers sound simple and they are. I have been there. I kept this quote as my phone backdrop for years. I was working hard and dreamed of owning a condo in Mexico. I was 90 pounds heavier and needed to make some life changes. I did it and so can you! If not now then when! Choose you each and everyday. You can achieve any goal I believe in you!
